Pulse - Scout

Pulse is a small floating indicator that appears near the bottom-right of your screen. It shows when Scout is listening, processing, or idle.

States

State	What you see
Idle	Small waveform icon — click it to start dictating
Listening	Expanded capsule with an animated waveform, label, and timer
Processing	Pulsing animation while text is being finalized

Click to dictate

Click the idle Pulse icon to start a push-to-talk dictation session, just like holding the dictation hotkey. Double-click to reset Pulse back to the bottom-right corner if you’ve moved it.

Showing and hiding

Pulse is on by default. You can toggle it in Settings → General → Pulse. When Pulse is hidden, dictation still works normally via hotkeys — the indicator is purely visual.

If Pulse gets stuck in an unexpected position, double-click it to snap it back to the bottom-right corner of your screen.
